Bassist, vocalist, and composer — jazz, folk, classical, free improv.

Mowgli Giannitti is a Vermont-based bassist, vocalist, and composer whose work crosses jazz, classical, folk, jam, bluegrass, old-time, Celtic, and Latin idioms. He trained at Bennington College in contemporary composition, jazz bass, and classical voice, and continues studies under composer W.A. Matthieu.

He performs across the Northeast with The Melting Nomads, The Terrible Mountain String Band, Satyrdagg, and The Heavy Nettles, and has collaborated with choreographers, theater directors, and concert ensembles including the Sage City Symphony. An EP of original songs performed by Satyrdagg is forthcoming.

Acoustic guitar and vocals — original country songs and traditional standards.

Matt Hagen is a Vermont singer-songwriter who plays acoustic guitar and sings originals rooted in traditional country, alongside songs by Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Shel Silverstein, Merle Haggard, and Lee Hazlewood. His originals lean into the storytelling tradition of the genre — playful narratives, ground-truth observations, and the occasional bit of advice.

Piano-centered singer-songwriter — pop-rock-indie-folk with a touch of jazz.

Andriana Chobot is a Burlington, Vermont singer-songwriter who pairs an expressive alto with piano-centered originals and ethereal ballads, drifting between pop, rock, indie folk, and jazz. Seven Days describes her as having “a theatrical voice that likely owes some debt to the emotionally forthright work of Rufus Wainwright and Sarah McLachlan.”

She studied theatre alongside music and has been writing songs since high school. Her recent single “Like It’s the Last Time” teases her first full-length album, RETURN TO SINCERE.

Six-piece New Orleans jazz — the Louis Armstrong All-Stars songbook with an updated rhythm section.

The Dixie Six is a longtime Burlington-area band devoted to traditional New Orleans jazz, built around the repertoire of Louis Armstrong’s All-Stars of the 1950s and ’60s — standards like “Hello, Dolly!,” “Mack the Knife,” and “Blueberry Hill.” Six Vermont musicians on cornet, clarinet, trombone, piano, bass, and drums, with a rhythm section that gives the classics fresh energy.

Vermont Americana singer — drawn to the blues and to ballads.

Born in St. Albans and raised in Burlington’s South End, Cooie DeFrancesco found her voice as a kid singing harmony with her siblings on long Route 7 drives between home and family up north. Her musical roots run from 1960s rock and soul back to the blues lineage that inspired it — Jimmy Reed, Howlin’ Wolf, Etta James, Sugar Pie DeSanto.

After decades away from the stage, she’s back to performing across Vermont — solo and with several ensembles. In her own words: “I don’t want to die with the music still inside me.”

Shelburne’s own — a Champlain Valley Union singer-songwriter of nature-soaked country-folk and rock.

Charlie Schramm started writing songs around age 10 and never stopped. This May he marked his 18th birthday by releasing his debut album, “Eighteen” — eleven tracks of country-folk and rock that he wrote, performed, and produced almost entirely himself, recording in a basement studio he built with money earned from gigs.

He’s a familiar face around town, having played Shelburne Vineyard, Village Wine & Coffee, the Pierson Library, and seven years of pancake breakfasts at Palmer’s Sugarhouse — a fellow vendor here this Saturday. His songs lean on nostalgia and the natural world. This fall he heads to Yale to study engineering, making this a sweet hometown summer set.

Singer-songwriter and guitarist from Madagascar — and a player of the valiha, his country’s national instrument.

Mikahely taught himself guitar in Madagascar around age seven, on instruments belonging to his older brothers’ friends and against his father’s advice that music was no way to make a living. By sixteen he was working in a recording studio in his hometown. He released a solo album in 1998, formed a band in 2005, and toured Madagascar and Europe behind songs written and sung in Malagasy.

He moved to the United States in 2017 and now lives in Burlington, where he started over playing rooms like the Light Club Lamp Shop and Radio Bean for audiences who had never heard the language. His guitar work uses Malagasy picking, a style with its own logic, and the valiha is a zither strung along a tube of bamboo, used in ceremony at home. He calls what he does healing music, and he doesn’t take credit for where it comes from: “For me, music is not creation, it’s inspiration. I know it often comes from the rainforest. The sound comes from the trees, through the valiha or the guitar, to me.”
